Katie DeFusco is a senior at Boston College studying Communications, International Studies, and Management & Leadership. Born in the small town of Malvern, Pennsylvania, Katie grew up with her two parents, brother, and beloved dog (yes, she’s a dog person).
Katie is also an avid traveler. In high school, she participated in an exchange program with Danish students. During her junior year of college, she spent a semester in Paris with a homestay family. In addition, she recently traveled to Belize with the Arrupe service immersion program at BC.
Katie has spent most of her summers waitressing at a local breakfast restaurant in Malvern. She has also consistently babysat for a BC professor’s family. In the past year she worked as an intern with a recruiting firm in Boston and as a Creative Services intern for WCVB, the local ABC-affiliate TV news station in Boston.
Katie’s other interests include writing, photography, and snowboarding. In her spare time, Katie can be found reading the news, eating Kit Kats, running, enjoying a good IPA, or pranking her roommates. She hopes to use the values she has learned at BC for a greater good as she explores her options for the future, which include taking time off to volunteer and potentially going to graduate school for journalism.
