Best Coffee: the Chocolate Bar
While Hillside garners a close second, the coffee crafted by Mr. Peet at this middle campus haven earns it the title of prime caffeination spot. Housed in the bastion of liberal arts that is Stokes Hall, the Chocolate Bar is the perfect place to post up with a good book and sip a frothy caramel latte. The combination of gleaming mahogany and java aroma create the ideal academic-but-relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a midday pick-me-up.
Best Epic View: McGuinn 5th Floor Conference Room
Finals week getting you down? Beat those study blues with the inspirational view from this little known, usually empty conference room. While cranking out that term paper, you can dream about one day earning a corner office on the top floor of the John Hancock building that gleams from the Boston skyline in the distance. At sundown, the buildings’ facades light up with golden hues… and again at sunrise, if you’re there ‘til then.
Most Instagrammable Spot: Linden Lane
BC’s most iconic building has no better angle than as viewed from the end of Linden Lane at the main entrance to campus. Make your viewfinder happy with a focus on the golden eagle that stands parallel to the tower’s spires reaching towards the heavens. Flanked by beautiful and evenly spaced trees to add to the aesthetic, a snap of this path showcases your classic style and highlights the beauty of any season on campus.
Best Sunday Brunch: Lulu’s Allston
This Allston spot is the perfect brunch joint, with bloody marys to die for. The funky dishes like “white trash hash,” s’mores pancakes, and braised shortrib tacos are fan favorites, and the place doubles as a hip bar at night. In warmer weather, the open windows give it that chic patio vibe without actually requiring you to sit outside. The location isn’t ideal if you’re taking the T, but it’s well worth the Uber fare.
